Dispersion
In Dispersion, family snapshots are hollowed out to obscure identity, transforming familiar images into fragmented traces of memory and presence. Reintroduced into physical space, these altered photographs reveal absences and gaps within the family archive, drawing attention to what is concealed, lost, or left undocumented. By removing visual information while preserving the photograph’s physical form, the work explores the relationship between visibility and erasure, presence and absence, and the ways family histories are shaped by displacement, memory, and the incomplete nature of documentation.
